Refund Policy

This policy explains when refunds are available on Shutter League, how to request one, and how long the process takes.

Shutter League is a digital services platform. All services are delivered instantly upon payment. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis as described below. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at support@shutterleague.com within the applicable window.

Refund Eligibility Summary

Monthly Subscription — unused portion No Subscriptions are billed monthly. Once a billing period begins, it is non-refundable. You may cancel at any time to stop future billing.
Monthly Subscription — technical failure Yes If subscription benefits (upload access, programme access) were not available due to a platform error, a pro-rated refund or credit will be issued.
Open Programme participation fee — before participation window closes Yes — within 48 hours If you request a refund within 48 hours of payment and the programme participation window has not yet closed, a full refund will be issued.
Open Programme participation fee — after participation window closes No Once the programme participation window closes, participation fees are non-refundable as judging has commenced.
Body of Work (BOW) participation fee — before judging begins Yes — within 7 days If you request a refund before the judging period begins (typically 1 January), a full refund will be issued.
Body of Work (BOW) participation fee — after judging begins No Once the judging period begins, BOW participation fees are non-refundable.
Mentor Review Session No Once a mentor has delivered your review, the session fee is non-refundable — the service has been rendered. If your review is not delivered within 72 hours of your request, contact us for a full refund.
Duplicate / accidental charge Yes — always If you were charged more than once for the same service, the duplicate charge will be refunded in full.
Failed transaction (amount deducted, service not activated) Yes — always If your payment was deducted but the service was not activated within 24 hours, a full refund will be issued after verification.
How to Request a Refund ▾

To request a refund, contact us at support@shutterleague.com with the following information:

  • Your registered email address on Shutter League
  • The date and amount of the transaction
  • Your payment reference number or UPI/bank transaction ID
  • The reason for the refund request

We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and communicate our decision within 5 business days.

Refund Processing Time ▾

Once a refund is approved, the amount will be credited to your original payment method within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. UPI refunds are typically processed faster (1–3 business days).

Shutter League does not charge any processing fees for refunds.

Subscription Cancellation ▾

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Profile page. Cancellation stops future billing immediately. Your subscription benefits remain active until the end of the current billing period. No refund is issued for the current billing period upon cancellation.

Disqualification ▾

If a member is disqualified from a programme due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions (including uploading AI-generated images, plagiarism, or manipulation), no refund will be issued for any programme participation fee paid.

Grievance Redressal ▾

If you are not satisfied with our response to a refund request, you may escalate your grievance to our designated Grievance Officer:

  • Acknowledgement: Within 48 hours of receipt
  • Resolution time: Within 30 days of escalation

If the grievance remains unresolved after 30 days, you may approach the relevant consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
